Handwara Police solved cold blooded murder case
On 11-06-2020, one Saif Ud Din Tanchi S/o Ghulam Akbar R/o Lahikoote Monbal lodged a written complaint to the effect that one Fareed Ahmad Tanchi S/o Hakim Din Tanchi R/o Monbal Lahikoote has abducted his daughter namely Tabasum. On receipt of this complaint, Case FIR No. 58/2020 U/S 363-IPC was registered in P/S Qalamabad and investigation set into motion.
During the course of investigation, P/S Qalamabad recovered the abducted girl and arrested alleged accused person. The abducted girl was handed over to her legal heirs after completion of departmental formalities.
Subsequently ​​on 12-06-2020 one Bashir Ahmad Tanchi S/o Raj Tanchi R/o Monbal Lahikoote lodged a complaint against Saif Din Tanchi S/o Akbar Tanchi and other nine accused persons alleging therein that they entered into the house of his nephew namely Mushtaq Ahmad Tanchi S/o Hakim Din R/o Lahikoote Monbal and attacked upon him with intention to kill him who during scuffle received injuries on his head. Accordingly, case FIR No. 59/2020 U/S 307,147,452,323,109-IPC was registered in P/S Qalamabad and investigation taken up.
The injured person namely Mushtaq Ahmad Tanchi S/o Hakim Din Tanchi R/o Lahikoote Monbal was initially shifted to Districh Hospital Handwara for treatment where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for advanced treatment but he lost the struggle of life and succumbed to his injuries on 15-06-2020 whose dead body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completion of departmental formalities and offence U/s 302-IPC was added in the instant case.
Police constituted a Special Investigation team (SIT) led by SDPO Handwara Tariq Mahmood-JKPS under the close supervission of SP Handwara Dr G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS for the investigation of the case .
During the course of investigation, four of the alleged accused persons were arrested and thoroughly interrogated but no clue struck out.
Today on 19-06-2020 P/S Qalamabad while continuing its efforts to solve the cold blooded murder apprehended one Mohammad Akbar Tanchi S/o Hakim Din Tanchi who happens to be the elder brother of the deceased who was put on sustained interrogation. During sustained interrogation, the apprehended person disclosed that he has attacked his own brother with an axe and falsely implicated the names of relatives of the abducted girl to take revenge on the father of the abducted girl.
On his disclosure weapon of offence i.e Axe and Rope and the mobile of the deceased was recovered on the instance of Mohammad Akbar Tanchi. Thus the cold- blooded murder has been solved by Handwara Police in a very short period.
The investigation done by the Special Investigation Team in a professional and scientific manner to nab the actual accused has been hailed by the general public.
