Drug Peddler arrested in Handwara along with contraband substance.
Handwara,06Sep:Handwara Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
On the directions of SP Handwara Dr.Sandeep Chakarvarty/IPS,acting swiftly upon a specific information generated by SDPO Handwara, Police party headed by DO. Chogal Mr.Sadiq Sab. laid a special naka near Wahipora crossing intercepted one suspected person,namely Bilal Ahmad S/O Ab Raheem Shaikh,R/O Hanga Handwara, during checking of the said person,10 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession and accused person arrested on spot.
Regarding the incident case under relevant sections of NDPS has been registered in Police post Chogal and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or any other anti social activities in their vicinity. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that Handwara police will continue its unwavering systematic efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs within the district with Re-invigorating anti criminality campaigns to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
