New York flash flooding: State of Emergency declared

 State of emergency has declared in New York after  flash flooding hits the city. Strong storms bring the heavy rain across the city causes floods. including Brooklyn and lower Manhattan, many parts of  new york have seen as much as 8 inches (20 cm) of rain. 

One terminal at LaGuardia Airport closed on Friday and subways, streets and highways have flooded. state of emergency also declared in New Jersey.

Governor Kathy Hochul said that "This is a dangerous, life-threatening storm". No deaths or critical injuries have been reported yet.

Rohit Aggarwala  New York's chief climate officer said that "the city's sewage system was only designed to handle 1.75 inches an hour.It's no surprise that parts of Brooklyn have borne the brunt of this,"

The New York Police announced multiple road closures and said the National Guard had been deployed.
