The relation between India and Canada have become seriously strained over Canadian suspicion that Indian government agents had a role in the murder in Canada of a Khalistan separatist leader and terrorist , Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June,2023. Indian Govt. dismissed the allegation as absurd.
As per Financial Times reported on Tuesday. India orders Canada to withdraw their 41 diplomats from embassy by 10th October,2023. Currently Canada has 62 diplomats in India .
Indian Foreign ministry has given an order to repatriate two thirds of its diplomats stationed in India, reducing to 21.
